Stages has a new indoor smart bike, the SB200, listed at $2,399 in the US. BikeRadar gives Oct. 5, 2026 as the US ready-to-ship date, which is today.
We worked from BikeRadar and DC Rainmaker’s review. We haven’t matched either one against Stages’ own US smart bike page. Check that page for the live price and ship date before you order.
Price and ship dates
| Region | Price | Ready to ship (BikeRadar) |
|---|---|---|
| USA | $2,399 | Oct. 5, 2026 |
| UK | £2,100 (BikeRadar); £2,199 (DC Rainmaker) | Nov. 1, 2026 |
| EU | €2,399 | Nov. 9, 2026 |
The two outlets agree on the US and EU prices. They split on the UK number. DC Rainmaker’s review gives no ship date, so the dates above come from BikeRadar alone.
DC Rainmaker says the SB200 costs $400 less than the SB20 did at its 2020-era pricing. A copy of BikeRadar’s piece, read through a mirror site, calls the SB200 Stages’ first ground-up product since Giant bought the American brand after its 2024 bankruptcy filing.
The belt drive and the weight
Rather than one big flywheel, the SB200 runs a two-stage belt drive that freewheels. Stages claims about five times the inertia of the SB20, minus the heavy flywheel. The aim is a road-like pedal feel on a lighter frame.
Weight is listed at 71 lb (32.2 kg) by BikeRadar and 70 lb (32.3 kg) by DC Rainmaker. DC Rainmaker puts it 55 lb (25 kg) under the SB20. BikeRadar notes caster wheels for moving it around.
Resistance numbers
An electromagnetic brake supplies the load. DC Rainmaker lists 400 W at 40 rpm and more than 1,500 W at 120 rpm, with a 2,500 W ceiling. Claimed power accuracy is plus or minus 1%.
Who it fits
- Rider height: 4 ft 10 in to 6 ft 10 in (147-208 cm)
- Maximum rider weight: 300 lb (136 kg)
- Crank lengths: 165, 170, 172.5 and 175 mm
- Adjustment: seatpost and stem both move up and down and fore and aft
That range is wide, so a shared bike in a household is plausible. If you’re unsure how your own measurements translate, our road bike size chart is a decent starting point. Saddle comfort is another thing to sort early, and our guide to bike seat pain covers the usual causes.
Display, shifting and apps
The built-in screen measures 2.23 in (128×32 dot matrix). It shows power, gear, cadence and ride time. BikeRadar reports 10 programmable buttons.
The Dream Drive preset spans ratios from 0.5:1 to 7:1. Shifting can follow Shimano, SRAM or Stages’ own preset.
On the software side, BikeRadar names Zwift, Rouvy and MyWhoosh as supported. Stages’ app adds more than 40 workouts. If you want structure without a subscription platform, our stationary bike workouts give you sessions to try.
DC Rainmaker lists these connection types:
- WiFi
- OpenBikeControl
- Zwift Protocol
- FTMS
- Bluetooth power
Four Bluetooth connections can run at once.
Questions riders are asking
Is it quiet?
Searchers want a quiet bike. Neither source we read gives a noise figure, so we can’t say. Look at the full reviews, including Bikerumor’s, for that detail.
Where are the manual and setup guides?
Stages runs a manuals site. Its search listings include install pages for pedals and the rear stabilizer, which suggests some assembly on arrival.
What should I confirm before buying?
Check the US price and ship date on Stages’ page, including any shipping or tax. Pick your crank length. Confirm your preferred app is on the supported list.
